Bouncing Ball and other animations

Animation, where do you begin? Start with someone who knows what they are doing, this could be talking to a real person or reading a book.

A fourth year animator from DJCad (Duncan of Jordanstone Collage of art and design) advise was to start at the beginning, they begin by learning how to create a bouncing ball, they spend weeks learning to make it as real as possible. They do this by studying the object they are animating, for example you want to animate a bouncing ball you go out and buy a bouncing ball and analysis the movement when you bounce it.

Planning was also something that they stressed was very important, in our case with the bouncing ball plan the route, how many times it bounces, how high e.t.c
